Electro-mechanical, Technician, III

Summary:

Intec Automation, Inc., a well-established automation company with over 25 years of business experience, is seeking a Electro-mechanical Technician III to contribute to our continued growth. Located in Rochester, NH, we specialize in designing and constructing custom automation equipment, with a focus on the medical and life science industries. The ideal candidate will play a key role in the design, assembly, testing, and maintenance of custom automation solutions, contributing to the success of our projects and the satisfaction of our global clientele. As an Electro-mechanical Technician III, you will handle non-routine situations and may assume responsibility for leading daily shop operations. Your role will also involve training, delegation, and quality review of tasks performed by less experienced employees. Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead technical build projects, overseeing the complete build, test, final acceptance, and delivery phases of automation systems.
  • Collaborate with the Engineering team to gain a thorough understanding of machine layout, processes, and functions.
  • Analyze and record test results, preparing comprehensive documentation to support quality assurance processes and facilitate troubleshooting efforts.
  • Review and ensure compliance with all details outlined in documents such as Customer Specifications, Quotations, and Statements of Work.
  • Interpret specifications, drawings, and 3-D Models using SolidWorks.
  • Participate in internal design reviews, providing valuable feedback to the team.
  • Organize build methods and communicate realistic timelines for equipment construction and testing.
  • Employ best assembly and build practices, ensuring precision and efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot electrical circuits and perform root cause analysis of issues, collaborating with design engineers as necessary.
  • Document any changes during build and testing and ensure clear communication with the lead designer.
  • Provide technical support, guidance, and training to junior technicians and apprentices, fostering a collaborative and knowledge-sharing environment within the team.
  • Participate in or lead customer Final Acceptance Testing and buyoff.
  • Adhere to safety protocols, quality standards, and project timelines to deliver high-quality solutions that meet or exceed client specifications and industry regulations.
  • Travel to customer sites to assist with installation and service calls.
  • Ensure product and process quality through rigorous testing and validation.
  • Stay updated with the latest technology trends.
  • Maintain cleanliness in the shop and adhere to Lean Manufacturing/5S principles.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management to support the overall objectives of the organization and the success of our projects.

 

Qualifications:
  • Minimum 4-5 years of experience in turnkey automation and custom machine building preferred.
  • A.S. Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering preferred.
  • Equivalent experience in the field will also be considered.
  • Knowledge of material properties and mechanical hardware and components.
  • Proficiency in layout, machining, and assembly techniques.
  • Project management skills to assist in overseeing project deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with meticulous documentation practices.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing/5S and SolidWorks preferred.
  • PLC experience is beneficial.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement in all aspects of work.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with a high degree of autonomy and accountability.
