OPEN POSITION:

Senior Manufacturing Engineer

SUMMARY:

Intec Automation is looking for a Sr. Manufacturing Engineer to join our team. The individual in this role will be responsible for supporting both internal and external customers in designing, building, documenting, & deploying world class automation equipment to a variety of industries. The person in this role must be skilled in multiple technical disciplines to be able to support each phase of projects. This is a full time, salary position with a competitive benefits package. RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Apply company policies, procedures, and tools to resolve routine issues.
  • Understand and maintain project schedules. Communicate risks asap.
  • Ability to assess scope of work/tasks and develop achievable timelines.
  • Problem solve using logic and the scientific method.
  • Propose solutions when communicating challenges.
  • Support every department through entire project cycles; from concept to machine installation.
  • Take direction from a team of engineers to work on problems with relatively limited scope.
  • Receive design handoffs from senior engineers in various states and bring them through to completion.
  • Create innovative, simple, and cost-effective design solutions using SolidWorks
  • Create detailed drawings of fabricated parts & assemblies. Update and revise drawings as required.
  • Create and maintain detailed bill of materials.
  • Participate in design reviews and other critical company meetings. Be the voice of the manufacturing team when required.
  • Write, review, and edit technical documents such as manuals and procedures.
  • Provide support to operations during machine build, integration, and test phases.
  • Implement & improve processes to increase quality and efficiencies. Focus on continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with all organizational departments (i.e. Engineering, Manufacturing, Sales & Marketing, Purchasing, Receiving, Quality, etc.) to optimize overall efficiency.
  • Support and administrate IT systems.
  • Build stable working relationships, communicate openly, and contribute to a positive environment and strong company culture.
  • Support field installations & customer service. Infrequent travel expected.
  • Stay up to date with leading edge technology related to industrial automation.
  • Focus on solutions & ask for help when needed.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally to both internal and external customers.

  • An ideal candidate would have experience with, knowledge of, or be skilled in the following:
  • Strong mechanical aptitude. Ability to design, document, assemble, test, and debug electromechanical systems.
  • Proficiency with 3D CAD software (SolidWorks preferred).
  • Properties of materials and understanding of common materials & coatings used for component design.
  • Fabrication processes used for machined parts, sheet metal parts, etc.
  • Detailed drafting practices, including familiarity with GD&T controls.
  • Design for Assembly (DFA), and design for manufacturability (DFM) practices.
  • Compressed air systems (i.e. Valves, filters, actuators, etc.)
  • Motion control elements (i.e. Motors, gearboxes, bearings, etc.)
  • Sensor & vision system components.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be responsible, self-driven, and highly motivated.

EDUCATION/TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:

  • B.S. Degree in Manufacturing Engineering or related technical discipline preferred.
  • A.S. Degree in Manufacturing Engineering with associated experience.
  • Strong technical aptitude with a significant experience and a proven track record in associated positions.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Stand, walk, push, pull, reach overhead, bend to floor.
  • Sit for extended periods of time.
  • May occasionally need to lift up to 50lbs.
  • Normal visual requirements for reading written instructions and computer screens.
  • Normal hearing requirements for verbal communications.
  • Normal exposure to manufacturing environment with occasional exposure to loud noise.
